Screen
Learn how VNC access to the server with the screen works and how to customize your screen resolution on Windows.
The keyboard layout is adopted by the operating system, so there may be deviations. After login, the layout can be configured at operating system level.
1. Accessing Server
Screen allows you to access your server via VNC for quick access to the terminal. You can also use graphical interfaces without any additional remote access software.
Please note that JavaScript must be enabled for the VNC console to work properly . If you have problems using it, please make sure that JavaScript can be used without restrictions through the console and that the connection to our remote server is not blocked by your firewall, for example.
2. Customizing Screen Resolution
Your server must support UEFI.
The basic resolution of our servers is 800x600 pixels. While this allows Windows to be installed correctly, it can make the system difficult to use. To increase the resolution, the settings must be adjusted in the UEFI.
1. Accessing UEFI
Although this section is called Recovery, the system is not actually recovered, and no changes are made.
- To change the screen resolution, open UEFI in the Windows Control Panel.
- Go to Update and Security, then click Recovery.
- Click Restart now.
- After restarting, you will be asked to choose your preferred temporary keyboard layout. We recommend selecting German.
- Select Troubleshoot > UEFI Firmware Settings.
- Click Restart.
3. Changing Resolution
- After another restart, you will be taken to the desired UEFI menu.
- In the UEFI menu, go to Device Manager and then to OVMF Platform Configuration.
- Navigate to Change Preferred and select the desired resolution.
4. Success
After restarting, the desired resolution will be applied.
