Logging In to the Server Control Panel (SCP)

Find out how to log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP).

1. Logging In to the Server Control Panel (SCP) for the First Time

You can also log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP) by using the auto-login function in the Customer Control Panel (CCP).

  1. When you log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP) for the first time, you must use the credentials you received via email.
  2. After the first login, you should change the original password to one that only you know.
  3. For best security practices, choose a passphrase that is long and unique. It should use both capital and lowercase letters, include numbers and symbols, and not be used for anything other than the SCP.

2. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Please note that starting July 20, 2026, the Server Control Panel (SCP) will support Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) directly during the login process.

Activating the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP).
  2. In the Account menu item, go to Settings.
  3. In the Account Data section, click Activate Two-Factor Authentication.
Activate Two-Factor Authentication button under Settings and Account Data in the Account menu item.

4. Install an authenticator app on your smartphone that supports TOTP (Time-based One-time Password). We recommend the following apps:

For security reasons, do not use the same device for the authentication app that you use to log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP).

5. Confirm the setup by entering the code generated by the app. The next time you log in, you'll be asked for your password and the code from your Authenticator app.

Previously, when the Secure Access Mode was active, direct login to the SCP was not possible; login was only possible via SCP Auto-Login in the CCP.

As of July 8, 2026, direct SCP login is also possible when the Secure Access Mode is active; however, 2FA must be enabled in this case.

Activating the Secure Access Mode

  1. In the Account menu item, go to Settings.
  2. In the Account Settings section, activate the Secure Access Mode slider.
slider for the Secure Access Mode under Settings and Account Settings in the Account menu item.

Please note that Secure Access Mode will be completely removed from the SCP as of August 10, 2026; as of that date, 2FA will be optional in all cases.

If Secure Access Mode is currently active for you, netcup will notify you via email that you must enable 2FA in the SCP by August 10, 2026, in order to maintain the same level of protection as before.

4. Set a new password.

5. Set up 2FA again.
