Please note that this feature only works on Linux-based servers with an unencrypted hard drive.

To request a new root password, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP).
  2. Select the desired server. Note:
    • Your server must be running a Linux distribution.
    • Your server must be powered off.
  3. Go to the Access menu item.
  4. Click request password.
  5. Your new password will be displayed. Note that the password is displayed only once and is not stored by netcup.
