Requesting a New Password
Learn how to request a new root password on Linux servers.
Please note that this feature only works on Linux-based servers with an unencrypted hard drive.
To request a new root password, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Server Control Panel (SCP).
- Select the desired server. Note:
- Your server must be running a Linux distribution.
- Your server must be powered off.
- Go to the Access menu item.
- Click request password.
- Your new password will be displayed. Note that the password is displayed only once and is not stored by netcup.
