No—the location and generation of your existing vServer will remain unchanged.
Using your own virtualization solutions on our servers is only possible to a limited extent. Activating nested virtualization (e.g., via the SVM flag) can lead to problems at the processor level and thus affect all customers who share the same instance. For security and stability reasons, the SVM flag is therefore disabled on our systems and cannot be activated.
We recommend container-based solutions such as Docker or Podman for the isolated execution of applications.
Software compatibility on ARM servers continues to improve. Many widely used operating systems and applications are already available for the ARM architecture. However, we recommend verifying the compatibility of your specific software in advance.
Please note that netcup cannot guarantee that all third-party software will be compatible with ARM servers.
Operating systems for ARM servers are specially compiled and optimized for the ARM architecture. Therefore, only operating systems that support an ARM version can be installed.
